The application was developed mainly with night photography in mind, where in order to get a correctly exposed image, one calibrates the image histogram by taking several initial shots of the scene at a high ISO setting. After the histogram has been calibrated, the ISO setting is lowered as much as possible and optionally, the depth of field is also modified.
The application calculates the necessary exposure time for the final values of the ISO and the depth of field, based on the initial ISO/ depth of field/ exposure time values, so that the histogram of the final image is similar to that of the initial image.
Notes:
The calculated final exposure time might not be one of the values available in the picker. In that case, the exposure time is set to the closest available value.
The calculated final exposure time is clamped to the 1/8000 - 59 59" range.
